Hi guys! If you don't know me my name is Sam. I live in Tampa, Florida and a few of my favorite things are sunshine, puppies, and pancakes. I want to tell you a little bit about how I became involved in health and fitness and transformed my life and body.
When I was in grad school, I became the heaviest I had ever been and was so unhappy with what I saw in the mirror. I went through a bad breakup and lost all of my confidence, felt bad about myself and buried my emotions with large Domino's pizza and late night cookie runs. I was constantly looking for a quick fix to lose 20 pounds and feel good in my skin again. I tried 1,200 calorie diets, detoxes, fasting, you name it and I probably tried it. I would get some quick immediate results but I would always end up gaining the weight back and sometimes even gain more.
I was so sick of being stuck in this same cycle so I decided to start learning about nutrition and how to use food to nourish my body in a healthier way. No more fad diets or quick fixes, I wanted to change my life. As I began seeing results—little by little—I became more confident and addicted to fitness. This drove me to pursue my Certified Personal Training (CPT) license and compete in WBFF bikini division.
I then took a dive towards the other end of the spectrum with an extremely restrictive diet and lifestyle. This led me to a dark place of binge eating. I would get anxiety about going out to social events with friends, hoard sweets in my house and eat them until I literally would get sick. Even things I'm embarrassed to admit like throw food away to make myself stop eating it and then dig it back out of the trash can. I felt so controlled by food and so alone I didn't think I would ever be able to change or be "normal" again.
This is when I reached out for help and created my 3 step process. I was able to fix the root cause of my disordered eating, do the mindset mastery that I was lacking, and integrate balance into my life. I'm happy to say it's been YEARS since I had any urge to binge. My relationship with food is the best it's ever been in my life and I honestly just feel happier and so much more confident.
My goal is to help women achieve fat loss and a toned body by learning how to choose foods that make you feel good and still be able to go out and have date nights and enjoy your vacations. You shouldn't have to give up your life to get your dream body. Your habits and behaviors should ADD to your life instead of take away your life.
